After more than 15 years of experience in the food, beverage and nightlife industry, Derek Silberstein, Executive Vice President of Operations for Hakkasan Group, oversees day-to-day operations for all nightlife and daylife venues. By measuring progress and adjusting processes accordingly, Silberstein keeps the entire organization on track through strategic planning, goal-setting and operational efficiency. Silberstein continues to play an integral role in all business decisions and the overall development of the company. He is a valuable asset as his keen eye for budget spending, managing labor efficacy and his strong understanding of facilities policies will continue to launch Hakkasan Group into successful business ventures.
Silberstein’s career began in two of New York’s premier special event facilities, The 200 Fifth Club and Tribeca Rooftop. As the Director of Catering, Sales and Operations at the time, he was responsible for collaborating with clients to ensure that each event ran smoothly through extensive planning and strategic analysis. In 2000, the New York native became the Director of Operations for the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. He went on to serve as general manager at ICE Las Vegas, where he made his reality TV debut as part of the Spike TV series, The Club, and met the CEO of Hakkasan Group, Neil Moffitt. Silverstein now manages a number of significant hospitality venues, including Hakkasan’s own Nightclub at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, together with WET REPUBLIC Ultra Pool at MGM Grand, Social House restaurant inside The Shops at Crystals, HQ Beach Club and HQ Nightclub at Revel in Atlantic City.
As a member of the executive team, Silberstein helps to provide Hakkasan Group with significant day-to-day operational capability and infrastructure, which will enable it to further expand its brand and hospitality operations in North America.
